Amansara

A sophisticated resort in magical Cambodia.

Amansara is a boutique hotel with the inviting ambience of a gracious home. It is situated near to the entrance of Angkor, the world renowned archaeological park.

The existing property on the site had been the former guest villa of Cambodia's King Norodom Sihanouk. When we first visited the building it was a ruin. Rather than demolish and rebuild, much of the existing building was kept, but extended and meticulously transformed into a luxury resort of 24 guest suites. We designed private pools for many of the suites.

Taking its cue from the existing villa, the completed building evokes the restrained luxury of mid-century modernism set in lush, tropical landscaping.

Ross Logie was Amansara's lead designer and project architect for Kerry Hill Architects from inception to completion.
